This rental is a great value for the amount of space you get, a great view, and things to do on the property. We loved having a BBQ, roasting s’mores over the fire, and getting cozy in the den to watch a movie! 2 things to note: 1) there is a train that comes by frequently at night. It didn’t bother me a ton, but my younger sister really hated it and said it woke her up several times a night. If you have a light sleeper traveling with you, this might pose to be a problem. 2) the area doesn’t have a ton to do. We went to botanical gardens, walked around downtown and got ice cream, but besides that we struggled to fill the time. Not a problem with the host at all, but just something to keep in mind if you’re bringing kids who get bored easily. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a budget friendly option with lots of space, a view, and a cozy feel!
Response: Glad you found the house cozy, comfortable and roomy. Yes, the train does come through at all hours, thats what happens in a river town. Unfortunately we can't do anything about it. Most guests do say they didn't even hear it. We also do provide earplugs just in case. So happy to hear you enjoyed the fire pit, it's one of our favorite things to do when we stay there! Too bad you didn’t find more to do during your visit. I know several places had live music throughout the weekend in LeClaire and quad cities. A car show was at the levy with vendors and music on Saturday. Along with many shops and restaurants offering special hours and entertainment for the holiday weekend. LeClaire also has an awesome museum and the Riverboat Twilight that takes sightseeing cruises twice a day (most weekends during the summer). TheTBK sport complex is located about 15 minutes away that has bowling, laser tag, escape rooms and more. Downtown Davenport has a pretty unique movie theatre called The Last Picture House with special showings including rooftop screenings. There were also many different events including Xtream go kart racing, parades and carnivals in surrounding areas. I hope you return sometime and enjoy more events and places!

This place is a gem. It’s a beautifully renovated home and located on the main drag in LeClaire. The view of the river was beautiful and we enjoyed spending time on the deck. We walked to all shops, restaurants and drinking establishments. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would go back!

LeClaire was such a beautiful little town and we got to be right on the water. We saw pelicans flying over the Mississippi. We saw trains. They were not too loud as they go fairly slow next to the town. There are good coffee shops and great ice cream within walking distance. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a family-friendly town and a peaceful stay.

Very clean and redone well. I had no idea bathroom was on first floor and bedrooms on 2nd floor. We are 68, 70, & 75. Bedroom with the one bed was fine. Room with 2 beds was very warm and stuffy. Thank you for having a fan on the stand. The one bed had such a thin uncomfortable mattress and I am 5’6”, bed was very short because of antique frame. We really enjoyed the deck with the view of the Mississippi! No problem with the train at all. Thank you.
Response: I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the view and stated the home is clean and well redone. Sorry to hear you didn’t understand the bathroom is on the main floor, I’ll work on the description and photos to make that more clear. As far as the beds, they are normal length full size beds but are slightly less in width, we get many compliments on how comfy they are and we stay there occasionally, use the beds and sleep great! For the stuffy room issue, guests are welcome to adjust the AC to own preference and using the “fan on” option will keep the air circulating and more comfortable. Thank you for the feedback and we will make appropriate adjustments as we want all our guests to have a comfortable stay!

The house over all was okay, they do not tell you that there is a train behind the house that can be very noisy if you have a baby! I message Chanda and Jim about the ac not working well especially in the rooms you sleep in & all they said was it’ll eventually work to give it time, so we did. To make the story short we ended up leaving the day we got there bc it was way too hot & rented another house.
Response: It is mentioned in the property listing there is a potential for noise from train but that when windows are closed it is not loud at all. In regards to the AC, after reviewing the ring doorbell footage, it is noted that you left the door open for 35 minutes on a 90 degree day. That will significantly heat up the house & take time to cool down. You gave less than an hour after reaching out to see if it was going to cool down enough. You also stated on your review that you had to rent another house but in your private response to us after our review of you, you stated you had to leave in a hurry because a family member had passed.

We had a great and relaxing stay! Even with 2 toddlers and 3 kids total we were able to make our stay very relaxing thanks to the setup of their home. The area was beautiful and full of local charm. We followed many of the recommendations in their guest book from previous guests and didn’t regret it! Our 3 year old LOVED the trains and they were not disturbing to us in the slightest. We were a little worried about that but it was actually a fun experience to have tracks in the backyard. If we ever return to the area we will be looking this place up to stay again!

What a cute place. The kitchen was bright & functional, the beds were comfy. Being right by the train tracks was very fun! We enjoyed eating dinner on the deck and sitting at the fire down by the river. We loved the photo album of the demo projects to restore and upgrade the home.

Great location to check out all the shops, dining, and drinking establishments in Le Claire! Enjoyed the river views! Provided a great place for local family members to gather for holiday brunch. Hosts decorated for the holidays including a tree all decorated and ready to go. We had a wonderful time getting together with a couple of extended family members on a couple of occasions and then a holiday bruch with the entire immediate family. Relaxing and Convenient
This was a great place for my husband and I to have a relaxing getaway while having a mini family reunion. We were able to be a landing place for cousins who came to town before hotel check-in time which made us the heroes of the family. Beautiful house on the river
My wife and 2 adult sons spent the weekend of Fall Fest in LeClair. The house was spotless and incredibly comfortable. We were walking distance of everything LeClair had to offer. Walking along the river at sunset was magical. We were able to stop at the distillery or the microbrew for an incredible draft or an expertly crafted drink. We even fished an afternoon and had good luck. The neighbors were kind, knowledgeable and full of advice for our stay. Will recommend to friends and family.

We had a really great time at Chanda and Jim's house. Getting to sit around a fire pit on the Mississippi River as the sun goes down was a gorgeous moment that we'll remember. We loved being able to walk a short block to the main Le Clair strip. there are several food and drink options within a 5 minute walk. Other reviews mentioned noise, but we didn't find it overly-noisey and weren't bothered by the train or the street traffic. If you're a very light sleeper it might affect you, but the hosts have a large bowl of good ear plugs in each bedroom. The house is a good size. On our trip there was only 3 of us, but this would be a comfortable location for a group of 6 or so. The beds were comfy and the living room was homey. We definitely recommend Chanda & Jim's place!

We loved this property. The house was so tastefully decorated and beautiful. Location was convenient (walking distance) to the Mississippi Distillery Company where our friends daughter's wedding took place. Also, we liked that we could hop across the street to the grocery store. One of the things we enjoyed the most was the fire pit on the river. We used it every night but the night of the wedding. It was neat watching the trains, barges, and riverboat go by. If we ever have to go back to LeClaire, we will definitely stay there again.

We so enjoyed our stay at the Rescued River Retreat! It’s amazing what they have done with this place! It was spotless and so cozy! The decor was beautiful and very creatively done. The kitchen was well stocked with anything u wud need for cooking or entertaining down to a mini Insta pot! We enjoyed an evening by the fire pit and a morning on the deck. The river views are beautiful! Bedrooms are comfy and Chanda thought of everything - ear plugs in case of train noise (trains didn’t bother us at all), extra bedding and fans! Thank you! This property is in a great location. We were able to walk where we needed to in Le Claire and didn't need to use our cars once we got there. We enjoyed sitting on the deck in the morning and watching the river. The property was clean and we loved all the extra touches.

We had a little hiccup with the Wi-Fi but hosts were readily available to get info to us to fix. Otherwise, very comfortable for a home away from home

Good location next to river and close to other shops. Nice décor, new place, very clean. The A/C only works on the 1st floor, we had to open windows to keep from getting hot on second floor. With roadway on the West side of the house and the train on the East (runs every 2-3 hours at night), makes sleeping a little more challenging.
Note: The A/C has been checked and is properly working again.

Great location and super clean. The host is very good at communicating and has a list of cleaning items for check out which is super helpful to know what needed to be done before leaving. The train tracka are right out the back door but really didnt wake up but one night to them. Lots of utinsils to use and pots/pans if needed. Loved our stay

The river retreat was exactly what our group needed to relax, hang out and attend a wedding in town. We enjoyed the house, deck and yard and especially liked the convenient location which was easily walkable to many places. Trains not as loud here as other places I've stayed near tracks was a bonus!

Beautiful Riverfront Home in Le Claire
This home is beautiful and comfortable! My husband, 4 yo and 2 yo stayed here for the weekend while visiting my mom. The home was sparkling clean, well stocked for our needs and the views are spectacular! Thank you to Chanda and family for the prompt responses and for restoring this home so beautifully!

Quaint, nicely remodeled river home! Lovely flooring, Instant coffee, water supplied, along with basic kitchen amenities. Bring a grater for cheese, strainer for pasta, and knives if you want more than a pairing knife. Bedrooms were perfect as was the location!

Absolutely Perfect
We loved this home. We came together as the ladies of our family to celebrate my daughter who recently moved to a nearby town. EVERYTHING was perfect, and the coffee shop down the road beats Starbucks in every way! The house was clean, beautiful, and cozy. PERFECTION!

Perfect Vacation!
This is an adorable, comfortable, convenient spot. We were so happy there. We loved that it was fully stocked with all kinds of supplies. It has laundry!! The view of the river is perfect. It’s walking distance from all the shops, bars, and restaurants. It’s very convenient to Davenport and all the fun things in the Quad Cities. One thing to note is it’s not actually a 3 bedroom. There are two bedrooms upstairs. One has 2 full beds and one has a queen. What the listing is calling the 3rd bedroom is actually the living room where there’s a pullout. But there’s no door (unless I missed it.) The shower is awkward but there’s no way to fix that because it’s the claw foot tub. I love claw foot tubs, so that was fine for me. The person I was with is a shower person, so she was slightly disappointed. But for 2 people, this was an excellent place to stay. We had a blast and hope to return!

A great weekend home! Loved the view and location. Great for relaxing while watching the river flow by, or using it as a base for exploring the area. Very clean. Very thoughtful touches with providing all the little things we needed - tea coffee, community info etc. Provided clear instructions while keeping the rules to a minimum.

Beautiful renovated property on the Mississippi River
We were so pleased with the immaculate home located right on the Mississippi River. The view right off the back deck was spectacular. The home was beautifully furnished with a variety of new and antique pieces that really added to the charm of the place! The location to downtown shops was also ideal. Highly Recommended!

Check in and out processes were easy. The host does an amazing job of having local business cards available. Within walking distance of downtown. The view of the river is spectacular. The house is very cute and clean.

Lovely rental
The house was adorable and very clean inside. Nice location and could walk to all of the shops along Cody. There is a grocery store right across the street, which is handy. Could us shades or thicker drapes upstairs to block out the street light.

If you are looking for an impeccably clean home, perfect location for walking to the downtown shops, with an amazing scenic view of the river, this home is for you! Check in was super simple with the keypad. Communication with Chandra was amazing. Plenty of parking in front of the home. The beds were all extremely comfortable and super clean! I have nothing but amazing things to say about our experience!

This house was the perfect spot for a short trip to LeClaire! The place was so clean with easy to follow instructions for check-in and check-out. We loved being so close to the beautiful river and within walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. I highly recommend this place and hope to be back sometime!

Great weekend getaway!!
We had a wonderful long weekend at the Rescued River Retreat. The house was beautiful, super clean and had everything we needed. One of the nicest parts was that we were within walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants downtown. Chanda got back to us very quickly to answer our questions at check-in. We would definitely chose the RRR on our next visist.

Newly renovated small house; excellent condition and amazingly clean; full of antique furniture; quiet and relaxing; plenty of room for two adults; maybe a little small for four; beautiful river view; Le Claire is a very pretty "up-and-coming" small get-away town.

Weekend in LeClaire
Nicely refurbished home with beautiful antique accents throughout. On the banks of the Mississippi and within a short walk to LeClaire shops and restaurants. Nice little grocery store across the street. Plenty of room and clean. A great place for a get away.

My family enjoyed staying at Chanda's home! It is in a great location, close to stores and restaurants. The home is close to the train tracks, which we didn't mind in the least! My twins loved watching the trains go by. The decor is a mix of antique and modern feels- they did a great job! Make sure to check out the photo album where they show the home restoration progress- we enjoyed seeing the process! Nice big dining table to dine and play games. There is a nice view of Mississippi River from the laundry room and the kitchen. There is a nice patio with a River view that would be lovely in the warmer months. Overall a nice, comfortable stay! Would recommend them.

Chanda and her husband responded quickly to a minor problem. The kitchen is functional, we made good use of it. Bedrooms are generous size, the electric fireplace was a wonderful place for the 4 month old to nap in front of. Enjoy a meal around the big dining room table & played cards after. Very comfortable space to visit with a few family & friends.

Perfect Location
The property was lovely and a perfect location for a quick getaway. We really enjoyed looking and the renovation process pictures, you can really feel the hard work that was put in to this property.
